Registration for the Upcoming Placement Examination
Examination Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026 (12 Elul 5786), at 9:00 a.m.
The examination will be held in person and not online.
Important: Due to changes in the academic calendar following the "Swords of Iron" war, examination dates may change. Please check the examination schedule table for updates.

Registration Period
Registration opens on July 19, 2026 and closes no later than August 11, 2026.
Please note: The number of places is limited. Registration may close before the published deadline once all available places have been filled.
Who is required to take the placement examination?
Students whose academic department requires English for the master's degree and who do not meet the criteria for an exemption.
Before registering and paying for the examination, please verify whether you are required to complete the English as a Foreign Language requirement for your master's degree or whether you qualify for an exemption.
How do I register?
Registration is completed through the Inbar system using your ID number and password.

Navigation within Inbar:
Inbar → Requests and Authorizations → Submit a Request → Category: English Placement Tests → Master's Degree Placement Test.
New applicants: Change the academic year in the main menu to 2026 (תשפ"ו).
Mobile phone users: Rotate your phone to landscape orientation to display the full menu.
Applicants currently on a leave of absence: These students must pay the required advance payment for renewing their studies before making the examination payment and registering. The system will not accept registrations from students who have not paid the required advance payment.
Refund Policy
Please note that once online registration has been completed, the examination fee cannot be refunded or transferred to another examination date, except in exceptional circumstances and subject to supporting documentation (e.g., prolonged illness, hospitalization, pregnancy-related bed rest, childbirth, bereavement, or emergency military reserve service [Tzav 8]).
Eligibility to Take the Examination
The examination is open to:
- Students who are currently enrolled in a master's degree program.
- Applicants who have applied for admission to a master's program and have received confirmation from the university that their application has been received and entered into the university system.
Students are entitled to take the placement examination only once within a three-year period
