מטרת הקורס
Course purpose and overview:
The Mitkadmim A course develops students’ academic English proficiency through an integrated approach that aligns with the CEFR’s four communicative activities – reception, production, interaction, and mediation.
Through coursework, students develop receptive competences by engaging with academic texts of increasing length and complexity, ranging from 1,500 to 2,400 words. They learn to build strategies for efficient text analysis and interpretation and expand their academic vocabulary and language control. Exposure to a wide range of authentic materials fosters students’ confidence and autonomy as academic language users. Communicative tasks are designed to activate oral and written production and interaction, offering opportunities to navigate complex content, express ideas with clarity and precision, and mediate information across texts and contexts.
By the end of the course, students will be able to follow academic content more confidently, communicate more effectively and independently in social and academic situations, and be better prepared to meet the demands of advanced academic courses in English.
